Amenity Grant Scheme
This scheme provides assistance to local communities/residents associations to improve their environment with special emphasis on abatement of litter.
The following works are eligible for inclusion under the scheme:
- Provision and maintenance of green areas
- Improvement of derelict areas
- Provision of flower beds, shrubs, trees etc.
- Improvement of green areas, walls, fencing etc. on approach roads
- Improvements to areas of historical nature
- Improvement to public walkways/canal banks
The above list is not exhaustive and works other than those specified may qualify for grant assistance. The grant will be paid on completion of the works as certified by the Council.

Lawnmower / Strimmer Grant Scheme
If your group is purchasing a lawnmower or a strimmer to be used to maintain open spaces or green areas in your locality, Meath County Council may contribute towards the cost.
In order to apply, a local group should submit two quotations from different suppliers together with a sketch of the area to be maintained. The grant will be paid when a receipt has been submitted to the Council.
Please note that the grant is merely a contribution towards the cost of the purchase of the equipment and will not cover the full purchase price.
