Rural Pub & Surrounds
There are many charming buildings in county Meath, and across the Country.
For many a weary traveller or visitor or indeed a weary worker returning from a day at work, there is no sight more welcome than that of a well appointed rural pub.
Unchanging, like the landscape around them, many rural pubs have retained their charm and their traditional appearance down the generations.
Meath County Council would like to pay tribute to these special places which have served our rural communities well in many ways over the years. Marcie Regans in Trim was the first winner of this award back in 2009, and now proudly displays its winning plaque outside its premises.
A judge will visit your premises in July or August. This visit will be anonymous. There will be a Gold Medal Award for the most charming and traditional pub in the county. A plaque to this effect will be erected outside or within your premises declaring your achievement.
