Open Submission - proposals invited for Per Cent for Art Commission for Coláiste Abbain, Adamstown, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford
Waterford & Wexford ETB invites proposals for the commission of Permanent Visual Artwork to be funded under the Per Cent for Art scheme in connection with the renovation and extension of the Secondary School premises at Coláiste Abbain, Adamstown, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford.
The overall budget for this Visual Art Commission is €31,000 inclusive of all costs, expenses, VAT, insurance and other charges. Submissions are invited from artists for artwork which responds to the brief. This is a single-stage open submission selection process.
The commissioners are interested in commissioning artwork which consists of a primary artwork in a highly visible location (interior or exterior), accompanied by secondary related artwork, perhaps as a result of participation with students, to be presented in other locations within the school environment. A participatory element with students is a requirement of the brief.
While the Per Cent for Art Committee have identified that glass artwork or sculpture appear to be the most suitable given the potential locations, artwork in other media will be considered.
