Date Released: 09 September 2015
GUTH GAFA Taster Screenings continue this Thursday evening Sept 10th at 7.30pm at Duke Bros, Market Street, Kells with WIEBO'S WAR, an epic David and Goliath story that tells the tale of a farmers struggle against the oil and gas industry.
Wiebo Ludwig and his family lives according to strict religious values on their farm in Alberta, Canada. They are self sufficient but their farm lies on top of one of the largest undeveloped natural gas fields and when drilling begins, their livestock begin to die and some of the family get sick.
The family's bearded patriarch, becomes the prime suspect in a series of pipeline bombings near his farm . The bombings echo a campaign of sabotage he waged against the gas industry ten years earlier, barricading roads, blowing up wells and culminating in the unsolved death of a teenage girl.
