Guth Gafa Festival 2015 - Call for Volunteers

Date Released: 14 September 2015

Guth Gafa International Documentary Film Festival  - Call for Volunteers

Guth Gafa (meaning 'captive voice') is Ireland’s only independent  ocumentary film festival. It focuses on showcasing the latest award-winning International and Irish documentary films on thought-provoking subjects, and promoting the art of great story-telling, through film, to rural Irish communities.

Now in its 9th year it brings award-winning documentary directors and producers to Ireland. For the last number of years it has taken place in Co. Donegal, until last year when it was co-hosted in Donegal & Kells. This year however, the festival takes places only in Kells, on the beautiful grounds of Headfort Demense and in venues in Kells Town.

Supported by the Irish Film Board, the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and Meath County Council, amongst others, this is an internationally acclaimed festival and welcomes hundreds of guests from Europe & abroad each year.

The festival takes place this year from 2nd and 4th October 2015 in Kells. Volunteers are a huge part of the festival and are assigned to a dedicated volunteer manager. They also get the chance to see lots of amazing films & attend the many events for free where they will be rubbing shoulders with award-winning filmmakers from around the world!
