Musici Ireland concert with readings from the works of Mary Lavin - Headfort House, Nov 28th at 7pm

Join us in the beautiful setting of the Adams Room, Headfort House, Kells for what promises to be a very special evening of music and literature. Following their magical performance in Kells December 2014, Musici Ireland return for another wonderful evening of music. The concert will be interspersed with readings from the works of Mary Lavin by leading figures from the Irish cultural and literary scene including Deirdre Kinahan, Myles Dungan, Rosemary Collier and Padraic McIntyre who have been invited to select and read an extract from their favourite Mary Lavin work.

Formed by Artistic Director and Principal Violist, Beth McNinch, in 2012, Musici Ireland is a multi instrumental ensemble consisting of the cream of Irish talent, who are all highly regarded soloists, chamber and orchestral musicians. In 2012 they gave five highly acclaimed concerts in Dublin and Wexford, with sell out performances during the Wexford Opera Festival.

2013 saw their debut performance at the National Concert Hall in Dublin and multiple performances of Bruch String Octet and Brittens’ Simple Symphony at Castletown House in Co. Kildare as part of The Performance Corporations’ Big House Festival.  During the 2013 Wexford Opera Festival Fringe they played the Premiere of Liam Bates’ “Vivo” to a standing ovation. 2014 saw a prolific season for the group, with two appearances at Music for Wexford, a four part concert series in the National Concert Hall, Dublin, as well as return performances at Calvary Church and the Wexford Fringe Festival.
