KT McCaffrey attended theNationalCollege of Art & Design,Dublin (1964-69). Upon graduation he worked in advertising and graphics before setting up his own design consultancy business. During this period he wrote and illustrated a series of children’s books based upon Irish Folktales, an undertaking that encouraged him to forsake the commercial aspects of art and go full time into painting and writing. To date he has had eight highly successful novels published; Revenge, Killing Time, The Body Rock, End of the Line, Bishops Pawn, the Cat Trap, No Curtain Call, and the Tara Bones. When not painting or writing, KT likes to pursue his life long passion for film, theatre and music.

KT lives in Dunshaughlin with his wife Mary and son Barry. This is his first time to exhibit his paintings to the public. He cities theatre and the stained glass works of Harry Clarke (1889-1931) as the main inspiration for his paintings, being drawn especially to the rich, luminous colours of Clarke’s works.

The Toradh Gallery are proud to host this exhibition of work and delighted to begin a new season and era at the Gallery with such a prestigious and vibrant show.

The exhibition will run from January 22nd – February 21st. Opening times are same as Ashbourne Library.
