Traffic / Roads Update - *** ROAD CLOSURE POSTPONED *** R150, Eastham Road, Bettystown, Co. *** UPDATE 26TH MARCH 2018 - THE ROAD CLOSURE BELOW HAS BEEN POSTPONED ***

Meath County Council will not be proceeding with the Road Closure at the dates set out in our ‘Notice of Intent to close the Eastham Rd’ on Meath Chronicle dated March 10th 2018.

Meath County Council  intends to carry out the necessary Road Closure later this year to avoid School traffic/bus disruptions and will advertise accordingly.

Original Release Date 9th March 2018: 

PROPOSED TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF R150, EASTHAM ROAD, BETTYSTOWN, CO. MEATH

 

Meath County Council intends to temporarily close the R150, Eastham Road, Bettystown, Co. Meath from its junction with the L5615, Pilltown Road at Betaghstown to its junction (Roundabout) with the L5632 Narroways Road at Betaghstown.

This road closure is required to facilitate the replacement of a Culvert under the Eastham Road.

 

DURATION: 

The period of the road closure will be from 8:00a.m. on Monday, 16th April, 2018 to 4:00p.m. on Friday, 4th May, 2018 inclusive.

 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES:

  • Traffic travelling from Drogheda to Bettystown is to be diverted from the R132 (Old N1 Dublin Rd) at Colpe East along the L1611, past Donacarney Old school, via the L5614 to Mornington and via the R151, Coast Road to Bettystown.

 

  • Traffic travelling from Bettystown to Drogheda is to be diverted along  the R151, Coast Road to Mornington and thence via the L5614, past Donacarney Old school, via the L1611 to Colpe East and the R132 (Old N1 Dublin Road).

 

Diversion and information signage will be in place.

 

PEDESTRIAN ACCESS:  Pedestrians will be facilitated with access throughout the closure period.

 

LOCAL ACCESS:  Access for residents and property holders will be facilitated throughout the closure period.

 

Submissions and observations to the proposed temporary road closure may be made in writing to the Environment Department, Meath County Council, Buvinda House, Dublin Road, Navan, Co. Meath C15 Y291 or by email to environment@meathcoco.ie on or before Friday, 16th March, 2018.
