Pride of Place—Trim Municipal District Awards Night

The Trim Municipal District Pride of Place awards were held in Trim GAA Centre, on Thursday night, 27th September, 2018.

Chairperson of Trim Municipal District, Cllr. Trevor Golden warmly welcomed the guests, which included local Councillors and representatives from 29 local groups. Cllr. Golden noted the fantastic work and achievements of the voluntary groups, which demonstrates a real pride the people of Trim Municipal District have in their locality.

One of the highlights of the night was the award of the “Grow Your Own” prize to Trim Family Resource Centre who were acknowledged for the work they do in providing a space where the young and the ‘not so young’ can come together in a creative, fun and productive way to grow their own food produce.

Overall the judges were very impressed with the achievements and progress made by all groups since last year.

Winners in the Housing Estate Small, Housing Estate Medium, Housing Estate Large, Village/Townland >500, Small Town 500 – 2000, Large Town > 2000, Youth Project, Watercourse Amenity, Grow Your Own, Heritage, Nature/Wildlife, Vacant Premises, Tourism/ Hospitality categories and the entries for the Residential Streetscape categories will go forward to represent the Trim Municipal District in the County finals where they will compete with the winners from the other Municipal Districts.

The County finals will be held on the 8th November in the Solstice Arts Centre, Navan.
