Traffic / Roads Update - Traffic calming works in Ashbourne are scheduled to commence on Monday 15th October 2018 and will last for approximately six weeks - speed tables are due to be installed at the following junctions: Johnswood Court, Brindley Park Green, Johnswood Park, Brindley Park and Johnstown Drive

Construction works for the installation of speed tables at five locations along St. Johnswood Road, Ashbourne are scheduled to commence on Monday 15th October 2018.

 

The Contractor will have a presence on site this Thursday/Friday 11th-12th October, 2018 but works will  commence next Monday 15th October, 2018. Speed tables are midblock traffic calming devices that raise the entire wheelbase of a vehicle to reduce its traffic speed; they are longer than speed humps and flat-topped.

 

Speed tables are due to be installed at the following junctions;

  • Johnswood Court,
  • Brindley Park Green,
  • Johnswood Park,
  • Brindley Park 
  • Johnswood Drive

The works will also include some associated civil works including drainage, ducting and kerb line adjustments. A Zebra Crossing is also due to be installed between the Brindley Park and Johnswood Park junctions.

 

There will be Temporary Traffic Management in place (Stop/Go) via temporary signals or flagmen. Some delays can be expected. The works are scheduled to last approximately six weeks.
