Public Consultation - Draft Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy - now on public display - Members of the public are invited to make written submissions at this first stage of the process between 5th November 2018 and 5pm on Friday 23rd January 2019.

Notice is hereby given that the Eastern and Midland Regional Assembly has prepared a draft Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy for the whole for the Eastern and Midland Region for the period 2019-2031, as required under Section 24(4) of the Planning and Development Acts 2018.


An Environmental Report has been prepared in accordance with the SEA Directive and the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment ) Regulations S.I. no 436/2004 (as amended) accompanied by a Regional Flood Risk Appraisal Report. A Natura Impact Report (to inform the Appropriate Assessment) has also been prepared in accordance with Article 6 of the Habitats Directive, the Planning and Development Act 2000-2018, and the European Communities (Birds and Natural Habitats) Regulations S.I. No 477/2011 (as amended).


These documents are now placed on public display and a copy may be inspected during normal office hours from 5th November 2018 to 23rd January, 2019 at the following locations:

  • Eastern & Midland Regional Assembly, 3rd Floor North, Ballymun Civic Centre, Main Street, Ballymun, Dublin D09 C8P5
  • The Planning Counter in all of the twelve constituent local authorities of the Eastern &  Midland Regional Assembly, please check locally with your Council regarding opening hours.
