Traffic / Roads Update - Old Kilcarn Bridge - Temporary Closure of Pedestrian Bridge - Notice is hereby given that Meath County Council has made an order to close the Old Kilcarn Bridge, Navan to pedestrian traffic due to structural concerns

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE
OLD KILCARN BRIDGE 

Notice is hereby given that Meath County Council has made an order to close the Old Kilcarn Bridge, Navan to pedestrian traffic due to structural concerns. 

This closure is required to facilitate the removal of debris, site investigation works and remedial stability works. 

Duration: The closure commenced on Friday, 28th February, 2014 and will continue indefinitely. 

Alternative Pedestrian Routes: 

-        From East to West

Pedestrian traffic is to be diverted south on the L-5055 to its junction with the R-147 and then continue north on the R-147 to the West side of the bridge.

 -        From West to East

Pedestrian traffic is to be diverted south on the R-147 to its junction with the L-5055 and then continue north on the L-5055 to the East side of the bridge.

Diversion signs will be in place.
