Notice is hereby given that Meath County Council intends to close the R135 in Ashbourne at Bridge St, to through traffic heading northbound only from the junction of the R135/L50192 ie. junction of Dublin Road/Castle St. for a length of 50m to the entrance into Aldi on the R135 Bridge St.

 

This closure is required to safely facilitate the installation of a new petrol interceptor as part of the Ashbourne Main Street Refurbishment Scheme.

 

DURATION

The proposed closure will commence at 7am on 19th August 2014 and will continue until 4pm on 22nd August 2014.

 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

Travelling north on the R135 heading to Bridge St, turn left before Bridge St. and head west onto the L50192 Castle St for 190m, turn right onto the Broadmeadow Castle and continue straight for 210m until you reach the R135 at  the junction of Bridge St and Frederick St.

 

Travelling north on the R135 heading to Slane or the north side of Ashbourne town, turn left before Bridge St. and head west onto the L50192 Castle St for 550m, take the third exit at the roundabout onto the L50192 Cluain Rí and continue straight for 550m until you reach the R135 at  the junction of Frederick St and the North Road. Turn right for the town centre or turn left for Slane and the N2 northbound.

 

Diversion signs will be in place.

 

Local Access

Residents and property holders will be facilitated with access throughout the closure period.
