Traffic / Roads Update - Temporary Road Closure - Ashbourne - for St. Patrick's Day Festival, Tuesday 17th March

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF ROADS

IN CONNECTION WITH A ST. PATRICK’S DAY FESTIVAL IN ASHBOURNE, CO. MEATH

 

Roads Act 1993

(Roads Regulations 1994)

 

Meath County Council hereby gives notice that Ashbourne Chamber of Commerce has applied to the Council for an order to temporarily close the roads listed below to through traffic on the dates and times specified. These intended temporary road closures are necessary to facilitate the Ashbourne Chamber of Commerce St. Patrick’s Day Festival

 

Dates and Times of Intended Road Closures and Roads Affected:

 

(a) R135 Frederick Street from its junction with Declan St to its junction with Broadmeadow Street 14.00 to 17.00 on Tuesday 17th March 2015.

 

(b) Broadmeadow Street from it’s junction with Frederick Street to its junction with Castle Street 14.00 to 17.00 on Tuesday 17th March 2015.

 

(c) Broadmeadow Street from its junction with Frederick Street to the entrance to Tesco Car Park from 18.00 Monday 16th March 2015 to 22.00 Tuesday 17th March 2015.

 

(d) Killegland Street from it’s junction with Broadmeadow Street to it’s junction with Declan Street. 14.00 to 17.00 on Tuesday 17th March 2015.

 

(e) Declan Street from it’s junction with Frederick Street to it’s junction with Castle Street 14.00 to 17.00 on Tuesday 17th March 2015.

 

Alternative Routes:

 

  • Southbound traffic should take a right turn onto the L50192 Castle Street and continue through the roundabout to the traffic lights to take a right turn to rejoin the R135 at Bridge Street.

 

  • Northbound traffic should take a left turn at the traffic lights on the R135 at Bridge Street onto the L50192 Castle Street and continue through the roundabout to rejoin the R135 Frederick Street.

 

Diversion signs will be in place.

 

 

 

 

Local Access:

Residents and property holders will be facilitated with access throughout the closure period.

 

Anyone who wishes to object to the proposed temporary road closures should do so in writing to Meath County Council, Ashbourne District Office, Ashbourne Civic Offices, 1-2 Killegland St Upper, Killegland St, Ashbourne, Co. Meath. The deadline for receipt of objections is 12.00 Thursday 26th February 2015.
