Traffic / Roads Update - TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF ROADS IN CONNECTION WITH THE BATTLE OF ASHBOURNE RE-ENACTMENT AND STATE CEREMONY, ASHBOURNE, CO. MEATH - Meath County Council has applied for an order to temporarily close the roads listed below to through traffic on the date and times specified.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF ROADS IN CONNECTION WITH THE BATTLE OF ASHBOURNE RE-ENACTMENT AND STATE CEREMONY, ASHBOURNE, CO. MEATH

 

Meath County Council has applied for an order to temporarily close the roads listed below to through traffic on the date and times specified. These intended temporary road closures are necessary to facilitate the Battle of Ashbourne Re-enactment and State Ceremony.

Date and Times of intended Road Closures and Roads affected:  Monday, 28th March, 2016.

(a)    The R135 (Ashbourne) from its junction at Rath Cross the L-5018-23 (Ballymadun Road) to its junction with the L-50192-0 (Castle Street) from 04.00hrs to 19.00hrs, Monday, 28th March, 2016.

(b)   The L-5018-16 (Ballybin Road) from its junction with the R135 (Ashbourne) to its junction with the R125 (Ratoath) from 04.00hrs to 19.00hrs, Monday, 28th March, 2016.

Alternative Routes:  Local diversions will be signposted.

Northbound traffic through Ashbourne will be diverted via the M2.

Southbound traffic through Ashbourne will be diverted via the M2.

Traffic travelling from Ashbourne to Ratoath (and travelling from Ratoath to Ashbourne) will be diverted via the R125.

Local Access:  Access for residents and property holders will be facilitated throughout the closure period.

Anyone who wishes to object to the proposed temporary road closures should do so in writing to the Senior Executive Engineer, Meath County Council, Ashbourne Municipal District, Killegland Street Upper, Ashbourne, Co. Meath. The deadline for receipt of objections is 12 noon, 8th March, 2016.
