Temporary Closing of Roads

Notice of Intention

 Roads Act 1993

Kildare County Council, acting on behalf of Meath County Council under a Section 85 Agreement (Local Government Act 2001), hereby gives notice, in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, that it proposes to close the road described as follows:

Road to be Closed: The N52 between Kells and Ardee at Owenroe Bridge, Carlanstown, Co. Meath.

Date of Closure:     From Monday 29 August 2016 at 8.00 a.m. to Monday 12 September 2016 at 8.00 a.m.

Hours of Closure:  24 Hours (each day)

This closure is required to facilitate bridge rehabilitation works on the N52 at Owenroe Bridge, Carlanstown, Co. Meath.

Diversion Route:

Kells to Ardee: Divert from N52/Kells Bypass onto R914 towards Kells for approximately 1.5km. Turn left onto R147 towards Navan (old N3) for approximately 15km to roundabout with N51 in Navan. Take the N51, Town Centre exit off roundabout and continue for approximately 700m. Turn left at traffic lights onto N51 towards Slane for approximately 700m to roundabout. Take R162 exit off roundabout towards Kingscourt and continue north for approximately 15km to N52 at Grange.

Ardee to Kells: Divert from N52 at Grange onto the R162 south for approximately 15km to Navan. Take N51 exit off roundabout towards town centre for approximately 700m. Turn right at traffic lights onto N51towards Delvin/Kells for approximately 700m to roundabout. Take R147 exit off roundabout for approximately 15km to Kells. Turn right onto R914 in Kells towards Dundalk/Ardee for approximately 1.5km to N52/Kells Bypass.

There will be no through traffic across the bridge during this period however local access will be maintained on public roads adjacent to the bridge at all times.
