Traffic / Roads Update - Temporary Road Closure - Ironman 70.3 Triathlon - Sunday August 14th 2016 (7.30 – 14:00)

Proposed Temporary Closure of Roads in connection with

ironman 70.3 triathlon

 Co. MEATH

 

Meath County Council intends to temporarily close the following roads;

  

Period of Road Closure: Sunday August 14th 2016 (7.30 – 14:00) (specific times for each road listed below)

 

This road closure is required to facilitate: IRONMAN 70.3 Dublin Triathlon

 

Temporary Road Closures:

 

  • The R157 from the Meath/Kildare Boundary at Offaly Bridge to its junction with the L-22143

            7:00 – 12:30 (Townlands of Moygaddy) 

 

  • The L-22143 from its junction with the R157 to its junction with the  L-6219

            7:00 – 12.30 (Townlands of Moygaddy)

 

  • The L-6219 from its junction with the L-22143 to its junction with the R125

            7:00 – 12:30 (Townlands  Moygaddy, Moyglare & Newtownmoyaghy)

 

  • The R125 from its junction with the L-6219 to the County Meath/Kildare Boundary at Meath Bridge 7:00 – 12:30 (Townlands Newtownmoyaghy)

 

  • The R125 from its junction with the L-6219 to its junction with the R156 at Mullagh Cross

            7:00 – 12:30 (Townlands Newtownmoyaghy, Dolanstown, Balfeaghan, Phepotstown,        Martinstown, Kemmins Mill, Mullagh)

 

  • The R156 from its junction with the R125 at Mullagh Cross to its junction with the L-6222

            8:00- 13:30 (Townlands Mullagh, Jenkinstown, Warrenstown, Barstown, Cullendragh,      Lynaghstown, Blackhall Big, Staffordstown Little, Waynestown, Harlockstown, Vesingstown &     Baytown Park)

 

 

  • The L-6222 from its junction with the R156 to its junction with the L-2216 8:00 – 13:30 (Townlands Baytown Park & Vesingstown)

 

  • The L-2216 from its junction with the L-6222 to the junction with the L-2227(Old Navan Road)  8:00 – 13:30 (Townlands Warrenstown, Beggstown, Cushinstown, Naulstown & Dunboyne)

 

  • The L-2227 (Old Navan Road) from its junction with the L-2216 to its junction with the

             L2228 Dunboyne / Summerhill Road 8:00 – 13:30 (Townland Dunboyne)

 

  • The L-2228 from its junction with the L-2227  to its junction with the L-2221 (Rooske Road) 

            7:00 – 14:00(Townlands Castlefarm & Dunboyne)

 

  • The L-2221 (Rooske Road) from its junction with the L-2228 to its junction with the L-2222

            7:00 – 14:00 (Townlands Dunboyne, Castlefarm, Rush, Ellickstown & Clonee)

 

  • The L-2222 from its junction with the L-2221 (Rooske Road) to its junction with the R-149

            7:00 – 14:00 (Townlands Hilltown & Clonee)

 

  • The R149 from its junction with the L-2222 to the County Meath/Dublin Boundary

            7:00 – 14:00 (Townlands Hilltown & Clonee)

 

 

Alternative Routes:

 

Alternative Routes for the R125 – Mullagh Cross to Kilcock & Kilcock to Mullagh Cross

 

Mullahgh Cross to Kilcock

  • Traveling west from Mullagh Cross, continue on the R156 to Roundabout at Summerhill, take the first exit off the roundabout onto the R158 signpost for Kilcock, continue south on the R158 to Kilcock.

 

Kilcock to Mullagh Cross

  • Traveling north from Kilcock, take the R158 signpost Summerhill, continue on the R158 to Roundabout at Summerhill, take the second exit onto R156 signposted Dunboyne, continue east on R156 to Mullagh Cross

 

Dunboyne to Maynooth

  • Travel east toward Clonee and take the R147 towards Dunshaughlin, turning onto the R154, L-2207, L-2210 and R158 for Kilcock. The M4 the provides access to Maynooth, with non-motorway traffic traveling via Laragh to the Newtown Road.

 

 

Maynooth to Dunboyne

  • Travel south on the R406 to M4. Traffic will have the option of traveling east on the M4 to the M50, north on the M50 to the N3, heading towards Dunboyne and exiting at Junction 4 traveling through Clonee on the R147 to Dunboyne. Alternatively traffic can travel west on the M4 to Junction 8 Kilcock, travel north on the R158 to Summerhill Roundabout take the L-2210 to R154 eastbound and R147 towards Clonee for access to Dunboyne.

 

 

Lucan to Clonee:

  • Join the M4/N4 towards Dublin taking the M50 north to the N3, heading west and exiting at Junction 4 for Clonee

 

Clonee to Lucan:

  • Travel east to the M3 and continue east to the M50. South on the M50 to the N4 junction, taking the N4 and then M4 west to Junction 4 Lucan.

 

 

Diversion and information signage will be in place.

 

Access for residents and property holders will be facilitated throughout the closure period.
