Traffic / Roads Update - Temporary Road Closure - Dunboyne - Meath County Council intends to temporarily close the L-2228, L2227, L2224, L-2228 and R157 in and around Dunboyne, Co. Meath

PROPOSED TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF ROADS

 DUNBOYNE

 

Meath County Council intends to temporarily close the L-2228, L2227, L2224, L-2228 and R157 in and around Dunboyne, Co. Meath.

The closures will be as listed below:

(a)      The L-2228 (old R156) from its junction with the L-2221 (Rooske Road) to its junction with the L-2227 (old R157) – 12 noon to 6.00p.m.

(b)   The L-2227 from its junction with the L-2228 to its junction with the L-2224 (Barracks Road) – 1.00p.m. to 6.30p.m.

(c)    The L-2224 from its junction with the L-2227 to its junction with the L-2228 – 1.00p.m. to 6.30p.m.

(d)   The L-2228 from its junction with the L-2227 to the roundabout at Newtown on the R157 – 1.00p.m. to 6.30p.m.

(e)   The R157 from the roundabout at Newtown to the Maynooth Road roundabout – 1.00p.m. to 6.30p.m.

(f)    The L-2227 Maynooth Road (old R157) from the Maynooth Road roundabout on the R157 to its junction with the L-2228 – 1.00p.m. to 6.30p.m.

Period of Road Closure

The proposed closures will take place (times as outlined above) on Sunday, 25th September, 2016.

This road closure is required to facilitate the staging of the Spirit of Dunboyne Motor Parade 2016 in Dunboyne.

Alternative Routes

Diversion and information signage will be in place.

Access for residents and property holders will be facilitated throughout the closure period.

Submissions and observations to the proposed temporary road closure may be made in writing to the Administrative Officer, Transportation Department, Meath County Council, Navan Civic Office, Watergate Street, Navan, Co. Meath C15 C821 or by email to transport@meathcoco.ie on or before 12 noon on Wednesday, 31st August, 2016.
