PROPOSED TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF L6211-46, FERRANS, CO. MEATH

 

UPDATE:  Due to unforeseen delays, this road will re-open on Friday 20th January.

 

Meath County Council intends to temporarily close Local Road L6211-46 at Ferrans Lock, Ferrans, Co. Meath.

The closure will be as listed below:

  • L6211-46

Period of Road Closure: From 7th November, 2016 to 30th December, 2016.

This road closure is required to facilitate construction works on McLaughlin’s Bridge at Ferrans Lock, Co. Meath by Inland Waterways Ireland.

 Alternative Routes for the L6211-46:

Travelling on the L6211-44 Southbound:

  • Turn left at the junction with the L6214-16 and take this road (turning right at Coole School) to the junction with the R158. Turn right at this junction and travel on this road to the junction with the R148. Turn right at this junction to the junction with the L5027-0. (End Detour)

(Townlands of Ardrums Great, Coole, Garadice, Gallow, Ferrans, Kilglin, Balfeaghan, Boycetown)

Travelling on the L6223-0 Southbound:

  • Turn left at the junction with the L6214-16 (at Coole School) and take this road to the junction with the R158.  Turn right at this junction and travel on this road to the junction with the R148. Turn right at this junction to the junction with the L5027-0. (End Detour)

(Townlands of Coole, Garadice, Gallow, Ferrans, Kilglin, Balfeaghan, Boycetown)

Travelling on the L6211-46 Northbound

  • Travelling on the R148 at the junctions with the L5027-0 continue eastbound on the R148 to the junction with the R158; turn left at this junction and travel to the junction with the L6214-16 (Garadice).  Turn right at the junction with the L6223-0 or with the junction of the L6211-44.  (End Detour)

Diversion and information signage will be in place.

Access for residents and property holders will be facilitated throughout the closure period.

Submissions and observations to the proposed temporary road closure may be made in writing to the Administrative Officer, Transportation Department, Meath County Council, Navan Civic Office, Town Hall, Watergate Street, Navan, Co. Meath, C15 C821 or by email to transport@meathcoco.ie on or before Thursday, 6th October, 2016.
