Water Notice - EAST MEATH WATER SUPPLY - - UPDATES FRIDAY 1ST JUNE

UPDATE FRIDAY 1ST JUNE 5.15PM

 

The recovery from the burst watermain is on-going and the supply within Ratoath, Kilbride, Ashbourne and Duleek areas are much improved and are expected to return to normal overnight.

 

We will continue to monitor the situation over the weekend and are working closely with Irish Water to have normal service returned as quickly as possible.

 

Water Stations are still in place in the Ratoath and Kilbride areas, pending a full recovery.

UPDATE FRIDAY 1ST JUNE 10.00AM

 

The recovery from the burst is on-going but is slower than had been anticipated.

 

The supply within Ratoath, Kilbride, Ashbourne and Duleek are much improved and are expected to return to normal over the coming hours. However there may be some reduction in supply to other areas of East Meath during the recovery period.

We will continue to monitor the situation and are working closely with Irish Water to have service returned as quickly as possible.

UPDATE - THURSDAY 31ST MAY 5.45PM

 

A burst watermain occurred last night on the pipeline serving the Staleen Water Treatment Plant which serves Drogheda & East Meath.

 

A repair crew was on site throughout the night to assess the burst and repairs have now been completed and water pressure is gradually being restored to ensure the integrity of the repair.

 

The majority of customers are currently unaffected by this burst. However supply to Ratoath, Kilbride and Duleek Areas will continue to be affected over the coming hours, and will not be fully restored until tomorrow Friday 1st June.

A repair crew has been on site throughout the night to assess the burst and begin repairs.

 

The majority of customers are currently unaffected by this burst. However we anticipate supply to Ratoath, Kilbride and Duleek Areas will be affected over the coming hours and arrangements are being put in place to provide alternative supplies in theses locations.

 

The Council’s Crisis Management Team convened earlier this morning and we will provide further updates on the emerging situation throughout the day.
