The team from Meath were part of a contingent of two hundred and sixty volunteers from Kildare, Galway, Dublin, Sligo and Tipperary South Civil Defence.
The organisations primary role was the provision of First Aid and Ambulance cover on both the Blue and Red camp sites from 1000hrs on Thursday morning 7th July through until 1600hrs on Monday 11th on a continuous 24hr. basis divided into 8hr. shifts.
Civil Defence volunteers were also involved in radio communications and management of the overall operation as well as provision of catering for all meals for the group throughout the five days.
The organisers provided separate camping facilities for Civil Defence and over two hundred of the group pitched their tents and camped for the weekend.
Volunteers experienced a wide range of casualty complaints and had over two thousand patient contacts ranging from the very minor to more serious injuries. The event proved an excellent operational and training activity for all those involved.
