Dog Warden

To contact the Dog Warden, please telephone the Environment Section on 046 9097200.

The Dog Warden deals with issues such as:

  • Dogs Lost
  • Dogs Found
  • Complaints regarding dogs
  • Surrender of dogs

Please note that the Dog Warden does not deal with issues regarding dogs barking.  Any person can make a complaint to the District Court under Section 25 of the Control of Dogs Act 1986 for nuisance caused by a barking dog.  You will have to keep a log of dates, times and duration of barking.

If you have found a dog or want to contact our dog warden, please phone 046-9097200

If you Have Lost A Dog

If you have lost a dog, please e-mail the Environment Section environment@meathcoco.ie or telephone 046-9097200, giving full description including:

  • date the dog went missing
  • where the dog went missing
  • gender
  • breed
  • colour
  • age
  • your name
  • your phone number
