Keep Meath Tidy
Meath County Council are delighted to launch a new Initiative called “KEEP MEATH TIDY” which is hoped will capitalise on the goodwill and huge contribution by voluntary groups, tidy town committees, residents associations, local authority workers, community groups, individuals, schools and others during the Anti-Litter League and the An Taisce sponsored National Spring Clean.
It is estimated that well over 250 groups and individuals together with Meath Local authority workers have been involved in giving Meath a “spring blitz”.
With summer now here, it is worth noting that our county will continue to be in need of on-going cleaning and with this is mind, we are launching the “KEEP MEATH TIDY” campaign.
It is acknowledged that a number of private waste operators have worked in partnership with Meath County Council and communities over the years in providing skips and bins to assist in the removal of litter and waste. Many voluntary workers would say that it is the guarantee of waste/litter being collected/taken away which encourages the involvement of so many voluntary groups and individuals. With this in mind, it is proposed that interested voluntary and community groups, resident associations and Tidy Towns committees can avail of a sponsored waste and recycling wheelie bin which will be collected on a regular basis as per the schedule for the collection of domestic bins in each area.
Any voluntary/community group interested in availing of this service should complete the application form below and forward to Mr. Peter Brady, Environmental Awareness Officer, Environment Section, Meath County Council, County Hall, Navan, Co. Meath or e-mail at pbrady@meathcoco.ie .
If you have any queries on this matter please contact Mr. Peter Brady on 087-2708100 or at the e-mail address above.
