Heritage Week
Heritage Week 2011 is Here!
Heritage Week will take place this year from the 20th – 28th August 2011.
The aim of the week is to promote awareness of our built, natural and cultural heritage thereby encouraging its conservation and preservation. All groups and organisations are encouraged to take part. A comprehensive programme of events took place throughout the county last year, many thanks to all who participated.
This year’s extensive list with over 1300 events planned nationwide promises to be the biggest yet! Meath County Council is planning a number of exciting events, most of which are free of charge and without doubt- all events are full of fun!
Heritage Week is co-ordinated in Ireland by the Heritage Council in conjunction with the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, and is part of European Heritage Days, which is celebrated in over 40 countries across Europe
