Long Term Leasing for Social Housing
Leasing Project / Social Housing
The Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government established a leasing initiative for the delivery of social housing. This initiative represents an expansion of the options for the delivering of social housing.
In 2011 Meath County Council Housing Department sourced a Voluntary Body willing to enter into lease agreements with individual property owners for a period of between 10 and 20 years, with the terms and condition of each lease to be agreed. Priority is currently being given to those properties sourced in 2011 and on which contracts are currently being negotiated.
The Housing Department while prioritising the applications on hand to 2011 is still actively seeking to engage Voluntary Bodies to promote this scheme in 2012.
Submissions are now being accepted by Meath Council from property owners for the provision of suitable houses for occupation by its social housing applicants.
On receipt of your submission we will keep your application on file and you will be contacted if a Voluntary Body is interested in entering into agreement with you.
Interested parties are required to fill in the downloadable 'Property Submission Template' below and return it directly to the Council by e-mail to Ms. Gráinne Tuomey at gtuomey@meathcoco.ie or in writing to:
