Celebrate your Volunteers during National Volunteering Week in Meath (May 14th - 20th)
Following five successful years of Volunteer Ireland’s National Day of Volunteering, 2012 will see Ireland’s first annual National Volunteering Week take place between May 14th – 20th.
National Volunteering Week is the one week of the year when we encourage everyone in Ireland to give volunteering a try, so that everyone can learn that – even if it’s only for a minute, an hour, or a day – volunteering can make a big difference and be a lot of fun!
In addition to our Flagship project (National Waterways Clean Up), we ask volunteer involving and community organisations to consider creating their own project to be held during National Volunteering week.
Last year in Meath alone, we had over 30 projects and hundreds of volunteers.
There are plenty of ways for organisations to get involved with National Volunteering Week.
* You can use NVW as an opportunity to profile your organisation, tackle a large or daunting project, run a thank you event for your volunteers or recruit new volunteers!
* If your organisation has an existing event or project coming up, why not brand it an NVW event? If you require additional volunteers, you can register the project and number of participants needed.
* Or if you are creating your own project, make sure to register the event with us. If some inspiration is needed check out our themed project guides to see what others have done in previous years.
For any help, to register your project, to register as a volunteer for projects, or for more ideas to get involved please do not hesitate to contact us at Meath Volunteer Centre, 046-9280790, info@volunteermeath.ie or visit our National Week of Volunteering section at www.volunteermeath.ie
