Trim Haymaking Festival
featuring the Roll in the Hay competition (sponsored by the Knightsbrook Hotel & Castle Arch Hotel, Trim)

• Special Guest arrives by river to the Thatched Village
• Vintage Tractors & Machinery Working mowers, tedders, etc
•  Display of Vintage Tractors, Machinery, Engines, Pumps, Model Engines
• Working Farm Horses &  Mowers, Wheelrakes, Tumbling Paddies
• The Unique Haycocking Machine
• Scythe Cutting Competition & Sheaf Tossing Competition (new World Record 62ft. in 2009)
• ‘Play in the Hay’ ( Maze & tunnels) & Pets Corner for the very young
• ‘Roll in the Hay’ for the slightly older &  more amorous
•  Music  *  Set Dancing  *  Ceili * Carney School of  Irish Dancing
• Coscan (Meath)* Cois Tine (Galway) * Naomh Padraig (thrice All Ireland Fleadh Senior Ceili Band winners) *Wexford Mummers * Dunderry Strawboys * Phoenix (Dublin,  recent Tops of the Town Winners) all on four stages
• Dog Show * Donkey Show *  Goat Show
• Thrills & Spills  Donkey Derby (boys, girls &  mixed)
• Dan O’Hara’s Farm, sheep shearing, thatching a cottage, stone wall building, hand milk cows, collect the freshly laid hen eggs, cocks the hay
• Macra na Feirme(young farmers club) Semifinals of National Farm Skills
• Arts & Crafts around the old Thatched Village
• Fishing Display by Trim & District Angling Association
• Trade stands, Fun Fair, Food Stalls
• Takes place in Trim,Co.Meath in the shadow of Trim Castle scene of the Mel Gibson blockbuster ‘Braveheart’.

Trim is 30miles/40mins from Dublin; 2hrs from Belfast & Galway ; 3hrs from Cork
