Rory Bremner, the UK’s leading satirist for many years, will lead a stellar cast of celebrities, politicians as well as satirists at the Trim Swift Festival at this year’s festival. Ireland’s George Hook and right-wing American shock jock Michael Graham lead a host of leading celebrity, satire, political, media, academic and sports figures such as Alan Shortt, David McSavage, Barry Murphy & Fr Ted’s Arthur Matthews, Deputy Dara Calleary, Terry Prone, Minister Leo Varadkar, Sean Gallagher, Brendan Keenan, John Waters, Harry McGee, Noel Whelan and Minister Pat Rabbitte and many others.

TRIM SWIFT SATIRE-DAY!!!
From Jonathan Swift to Myles nanGopaleen, from Dublin Opinion to Hall’s Pictorial Weekly and from Scrap Saturday to the Savage Eye, Ireland has always produced World-class Satire.
The International Trim Swift Satire Festival 2011 lines up some of the best Satirists working in Ireland today. Over the course of one (Satire) day, Saturday July 2nd, you can see the people behind many of the greatest TV and Radio shows, characters and creations of the last twenty years. Taking place in a Marquee in the beautiful grounds of Trim Castle right beside great food and drink stalls, all the entertainment will be FREE until 8pm, when David McSavage, Barry Murphy and Alan Shortt take to the stage for the Satire Heavyweight Championship, Admission: €25.
Before that, from 12pm to 8pm you'll see an amazing array of talent - Gerry Stembridge, Arthur Matthews, Ding Dong Denny O'Reilly, Bernard O'Shea, Colm O'Regan, Paddy Cullivan, Robert Carley, Prof Andrew Carpenter and Tom Cullivan. Unmissable.
2 July 2011 - Open air screening of Braveheart
On Saturday 2 July at 10.30pm there will be an open air screening of Braveheart on the walls of Trim Castle where a large proportion of the film was actually made. Admission: €5 or €15 for a family ticket (2 adults & 2 children) pay on entry
