Winter Solstice
People gather at Newgrange for dawn on each of the mornings from December 18th to December 23rd inclusive. Sunrise is at 8.58am.

Diversion in Place
All visitors to Brú na Bóinne and Newgrange for dawn at the Winter
Solstice are advised to travel to the Centre via the M1, taking Exit 9
going through the village of Donore and forward to the Visitor Centre.
 
For visitors who wish to access the site directly, all access from the
N51 will only be from the Rossin road ( at the turn at Smiths shop)
There will be diversion signs in place. There will be no access beyond
the Dowth  junction so all visitors will have to walk to the site from
there.
