Kells Pink Ribbon Walk September 3rd 2011

Following the phenomenal success of last year's event, the 2nd Kells Pink Ribbon Walk will aim to raise substantial money for the terrific Action Breast Cancer charity.

This year's walk will take place on September 3rd between Drewstown House andGirley Eco Bog Walk, just outside Kells, Co. Meath. 

There is a 10km run planned for 2.45pm on the day, with a more leisurely walk taking place at 3pm.

The Pink Ribbon Walk is a national fundraising initiative dedicated to raising awareness and funding for breast cancer support programmes and research . Money raised on Pink Ribbon Walks around the country goes to support the work of Action Breast Cancer, a programme of the Irish Cancer Society and Ireland’s leading provider of breast cancer information and support. The 2011 Kells Pink Ribbon Walk will start off in the beautiful grounds of Drewstown House outside Kells with a route following the shores of Drewstown Lake and taking in the Girley Bog Eco Walk, a great day out is promised for friends and colleagues alike, so…Come on everybody!

Creating a team
Sign up for the Pink Ribbon Walk with friends, family and colleagues and create your own team. You need a minimum of 4 people to form a team and there is no maximum limit. Our recommended minimum fundraising amount for teams is €75 each per participant (As opposed to €100 for individuals) All money raised by your team will be split evenly between the team members, e.g. a team of 5 should aim to raise €375 between them.

How do I create a team?
Creating a team is as easy as getting a gang of friends, family or colleagues to do the Walk with you. Everyone registers as an individual, you can train and fundraise together or separately. However, if you are entering as a team, your sponsorship money must be submitted under your team name and in a lump sum.

How do I create an online team?
When you register on line at www.pinkribbonwalk.ie you will get a username and login to access your Pink Ribbon Walk account. Use this facility to create your online team and then email your friends, inviting them to join you on the walk
