Kells St. Patrick's Festival & Parade 2007
Friday 16th March
- 10pm Festival Queen Finals- Queen chosen will lead the St. Patrick’s Day parade with St. Patrick
The event will take place in Arches bar, Farrell St. Admission Free-Festival Donation Box at Event
Saturday 17th March
- 12 noon Traditional Irish Sport of Handball-Exhibition Match by World Champions
The event will take place at Kells Handball Club, Church Lane. Admission Free - 1.00pm-4.00pm Farmers Organic Market at Bective Street
- 2.30pm-3.00pm Elvis will be in Kells Town at Kells Gig Rig, Farrell St.
- 3pm-4pm Festival of Colour Parade- over 100 floats-marching bands-featuring Dunderry Fair Group
- 3pm-4pm Spectator Fancy Dress- Prizes galore for those spectators who come along in colourful fancing dress (winners announced at 4pm)
- 4pm-6pm Traditional Music at Headfort Arms Hotel
- 4.30pm Kells Town Tour led by Willie Carr of Kells Historical and Archeological Society. Takes in the history of the Monastic Town of Kells within the old Norman Walls. Admission €5, Booking essential
- 5pm-6.30pm Children's Fun time at Headfort Arms Hotel-lots of activities for the under 12's including: games, colouring competition, balloon modelling. Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian Admission €3
- 5pm-6.30pm Under 12's Children's Disco with DJ Paul at Headfort Arms Hotel- Lots of spot prizes to be won. Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Admission €3
- 6.30pm-8.00pm Punch and Judy Puppet Shows at Headfort Arms Hotel- 3 shows of 30mins duration, raffle. Admission €2 per show.
- 6.30pm-8.30pm Céile Mór at Headfort Arms Hotel - with the Causey Experience Céile Band as well as a fantastic Céile, there will also be exhibition dances from Poland and Lithuania. Raffle. Admission €5
- 9.30pm 'til late- Irish Night at Gael Colmcille- Have fun and cráic into the night in Kells. Admission-on the door
Sunday 18th March
- 12noon-1.30pm The Kells Historical Walk with Aidan Wall at The Heritage Centre- Admission Free
- 2pm-4pm Family Treasure Hunt Find Shamrocks around the town to be in with a chance to win a fantastic Laptop computer from Oliver Sweeeney Computer Supplies. Starts and ends at Kells Heritage Centre. Admission €5 per family.
- 3pm-5pm Visit the famous Tower of Lloyd- a rare opportunity to learn the history of this unusual inland lighthouse and enjoy the dramatic views from the top.
- 4.30pm-5.30pm Car Crash at Church Street-simulated car crash. Admission Free
- 8pm Hypnotist at Headfort Arms Hotel-Enjoy an amazing stage show with a difference.
- 9.30pm -'til late Live Music & Cráic at Jack's Railway Bar
- 10pm -'til late "Ham Sandwich" in concert follows by Pyrotechnic show at Headfort Arms Hotel
