Navan Shamrock Festival 2007

Navan is Meath's largest town and is the administrative centre of the county. Yet, until recent years it lacked an event to mark St. Patrick's Day. St. Patrick is synomous with County Meath after he lit a fire on the Hill of Slane an event that led to the birth of Christanity in Ireland . It was for this reason that in 2001 it was deemed only right that the town should have a fitting event, and the Shamrock Festival was born Patrons are advised that both Academy Street and Trimgate Street will be closed to traffic from 1pm on St. Patrick's Day. This year promises to be bigger and better! Scroll down to have a look at what's in store.
