Have a laugh at Kells Comedy Festival 25th - 27th 2010!

KELLS COMEDY FESTIVAL 2010

The second annual Kells Comedy Festival will take place from Thursday 25th February to Sunday 27th February inclusive and promises an un-missable line-up of some of the best and brightest comedy stars in Ireland.  Based in The Headfort Arms Hotel, the Festival makes the most of its unique setting in a heritage town at the heart of Co Meath.

Among the confirmed Festival acts is a rare live performance by comedy trio ‘Apres Match’(Thurs 25th) and stars of RTE’s hit show ‘The Savage Eye’ (Sat 27th)  Also featured are Dermot Bolger’s comic play ‘In High Germany’ and an Open Mike session MC’d by Aodhgán Comasky (Fri 26th). Also on Friday 26th to coincide with the anniversary of Dermot Morgan, there will be a ‘Ted fest – an ode to Fr.Ted’, including a lovely ladies competition and Complimentary Tea trolley with Mrs Doyle, all those who present themselves as a nun or priest on the night will gain free admission to a host of events on the night!

Speaking at the launch in The Headfort Arms, committee member Fred Cooke said “We’re delighted with the line-up which includes well-known acts and up and coming talent, TV stars and local talent, making it the perfect mix for what promises to be the best Kells Comedy Festival yet.”

The line up follows:

Thursday 25th February, 7.30pm, The Kenlis Suite & Kelltic Bar Headfort Arms, €25
‘Apres Match’ featuring Barry Murphy (That’s all we have time for), Risteárd Cooper (Chasing The Lions) and Gary Cooke (I, Keano and Rock Rivals).  A rare opportunity to see this legendary comedy trio.



Friday 26th February, 8pm, The Courtyard, Headfort Arms, €10
‘In High Germany’ is an award winning comedic look at the World Cup ’88.  Written by Dermot Bolger, directed by Liam Weir, performed by Gerry Motherway.  Ticket price includes free admission to The Vibe.

Friday 26th February, 9pm, The Keltic, Headfort Arms, €10
Aodhgán’s Open Mike Comedy Showdown. Local stand up Aodhgán plays host to the finest up and coming comedy acts Ireland has to offer. Ticket price includes free admission to The Vibe.
(Special price: In High Germany, The Open Mike, The Vibe: €15)
Followed by the ‘Kelltic Ted Fest – an ode to Fr.Ted’



Saturday, 27th February, 7.30pm, The Kenlis Suite, Headfort Arms, €20
‘Stars from the Savage Eye’ is a triple headliner event! This critically acclaimed show has being nominated for an IFTA Award. Featuring David McSavage (The Late Late Show, Vicar St), Patrick McDonnell (Eoin McLove in Father Ted, Naked Camera) and John Colleary (Naked Camera, Tj and Tj on Matt Cooper)
