Castlekeeran

Four early plain high crosses mark the site of the monastery founded by St. Kieran in the 8th century. Nearby is a holy well. There is another high cross in the river Blackwater. Tradition has it that St. Columba dumped it in the Blackwater when St. Kieran caught him taking it from Castlekeeran to the monastery at Kells.
