The Judges, were astonished at the number of entries and the standard of excellence around the county. The Judges, a panel of four, were from NUI Maynooth, Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), HSMAI and Failte Ireland worked independently of Meath Tourism to ensure a “fair and anonymous assessment of each application” was made.
“While most of the Hotels in Meath entered, many of the smaller tourism related enterprises shone through for their individuality, innovation and clever use of web technology” said the Chair of the Judging panel.

The shortlisted winners were notified this week and should feel a huge sense of achievement for coming this far” said Michele Whelan, Tourism Officer,” The competition was very high according to our Judging panel. The recipients should sit back and relax now as the Judges decision has been made! “We’re looking forward to seeing who wins just as much as they are,” she concluded.

The Black Tie Awards ceremony, a mix of both brains and beauty, will be hosted by Sharon Ni Bheolain, RTE News anchor, and will be attended by press, cameras and Radio on the night. To add some fun, there is a special prize for “best dressed lady” and “best groomed gent” and “style spotters” will be present on the night!

Tickets go on sale online via www.marketingideas.ie or by contacting Meath Tourism direct on 046 9097060. As there are a finite number of places, tickets will be sold on a “first come first served” basis
