Station House Hotel wins Leinster Wedding Venue of the year!

From Station Master to Wedding Venue of the Year

Weddingsonline.ie, Ireland’s favourite weddings website, celebrated its 10th year Anniversary on Monday night at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Santry. Among the 300 guests who attended were some of Ireland’s leading figures including Bill Cullen, Jackie Lavin, Gavin Duffy. Shortlisted for selection were Irelands top 100 weddings suppliers; from wedding venues to stationary, and from bridal wear to honeymoon organisers. The first award was given to The Station House Hotel in Kilmessan, Co. Meath who picked up Leinster Wedding Venue of the Year 2009.
The Station House Hotel offers the very best in luxury accommodation and fine dining in their already Award Winning Signal Restaurant.  Once a train station connecting Dublin to Kingscourt, the original buildings and reminders of a forgotten time are still present. Chris & Thelma Slattery bought this as their home in 1981, and have since lovingly transformed it into a quaint & cosy hotel oozing with character which has made it the perfect wedding venue it is today.
The selection process was split into different stages. The first was a public vote which came from previous customers - a true testiment to their hard work and genuine customer service. The final decision was then made by independent judges Jackie Lavin (The Apprentice), Ian Dodson (Webkitchen.ie), Rachel Sandall (Editor & Chief weddingsonline.ie) & Blaithin O Reilly Murphy (Wedding Planner & Author) who based their judgement on how a bride/groom chooses their venue. Everything from customer care to added value, and from atmosphere to high quality cuisine. Chris Slattery, proprieter, was delighted to accept the award on behalf of the management and staff at The Station House who said “it is a great achievement and I’m very proud of our team – this was very much a team effort”. Chris also went on to thank everyone who voted for them – from previous brides and grooms, to their current couples waiting to tie the knot.
