Littlewood Forest Walk at Slane Re-Launched

Re-Launch of Littlewood Forest near Slane

Littlewood Forest at Slane has recently been re-launched following the introduction of new biodiversity signage funded by the Department of The Environment, Heritage and Local Government. Littlewood is located on the N2 Collon Road, 1 mile from Slane Village and provides a fantastic amenity for walkers. The new signage will further enhance the experience by highlighting the diversity of the flora and fauna present in the forest. Littlewood covers 28 hectares (70 acres) and comprisesa mix of conifer and broad-leaved tree species.

The opening ceremony on Thursday 11th of March was performed by Alex Mountcharles.

The beautiful walk was re-launched by Coillte as part of National Tree Week celebrations. The theme of this year's Tree Week was 'Twenty Ten - Plant Again' and the Tree Council of Ireland and Coillte want to encourage more people to go out and plant more trees.
