Swimming
Dipping, ducking and diving
During the summer months in Meath listen out for the sounds of children laughing and shouting with delight at the sheer pleasure of splashing, dipping and swimming in the clear waters that lap Meath's sandy beaches. The seaside resort of Bettystown with its long stretch of fine sandy beach and the excellent beach at Laytown provide good bathing all along the strand. Be sure children are supervised by adults at all times.
A number of excellent leisure centres can also be found in some of the county's hotel complexes as well as the public pools listed here.
