Blackfriary Trim Community Dig Info Evening

Thursday May 17th 2018 at 7.30pm

Blackfriary Archaeology Field School are hosting an information evening at the Blackfriary site on Thursday May 17th 2018 at 7.30pm for anyone interested in participating in our Community Excavation this year.

This is a Meath County Council community excavation which will be held for 2 weeks in August 2018 and is open to all members of the public over the age of 18.

The Blackfriary site is a Medieval Friary situated in Trim, County Meath which has been under excavation every Summer since 2010. So far the buildings and cemetery have been explored but we are now developing a new and exciting phase of the excavation ‘The Medieval Garden Restoration Project’ which is aimed at community participation and involvement.

If anyone would like to hear more about this excavation and possibly get involved, please come to our information evening which will be held in our lecture room on the Blackfriary site on May 17th at 7.30pm. Please note there is limited parking in Griffin Park at the main entrance to the site.

Tea and biscuits provided, We hope to see you there!
