Location

An outdoor exhibition about how the internet and social media are shaping the way we read information is on view at Enfield Community and Enterprise Hub. The Glass Room Misinformation Edition Exhibition is a joint project by Meath County Council Library Service, IFLA (International Federation of Library Authorities) and Tactical Tech, an international NGO that engages with citizens and civil-society organisations to explore the impacts of technology on society. The exhibition will be on display until the end of May.

This exhibition explores what misinformation is, why it’s shared and how it spreads. Find out how we, the individual users, take part through our many clicks, likes and shares. Learn about the business models, design practices and habits that create an environment where misinformation can spread or go viral. And understand how misinformation becomes normalised, and how the decisions made by the gatekeepers of technologies can influence our behaviours and opinions.

Along with the exhibition, the free Data Detox Kit reveals different ways misinformation disguises itself and gives you practical tips on how to find verifiable information on the internet.

You can also visit the exhibition indoors at Navan Library
