Anti-Litter Initiative

Anti-Litter Initiative

The Anti-Litter Initiative is run by Meath County Council and is an opportunity for your local group or residents association to get involved with helping to improve the appearance of your area.

It is designed to encourage volunteerism within local communities.

The Anti-Litter initiative runs every year in March and April and those areas taking part are judged twice during this period. Judges award marks out of 100 for the absence of litter and the general appearance of the area.

Whilst this is not a competition, those areas which score over 90 marks are entitled to a grant. Groups who enter the initiative can also claim a start up pack containing gloves, bags and litter pickers.

The Final Results for previous years of the Anti Litter Initiative are available below.

The standard was very high with all participants achieving over 90% across both rounds of judging, and many towns and villages achieving Silver and Gold Medal Standard.
