These special workshops are sure to pack a punch for the Cruinniú na nÓg Festival this year.

Act Out Youth Theatre members are being treated to exclusive Stage Combat Workshops with the renowned Irish Actor, Stunt Performer & Stage Combat Instructor, Jay Cosgrave.

Throughout the course of the workshop, participants will be introduced to the skills required to perform a convincing fight scene for stage and screen. The combat techniques will be taught by professional stunt man Jay Cosgrave in a safe and controlled manner creating a challenging and fun experience.

Jay Cosgrave is currently teaching stage combat at the Lir Academy of Dramatic Arts and Technological University Dublin.

Act Out Youth Theatre was established in October 2017 with a remit to create quality theatre experiences with young people (13+) in the Meath area. They provide an annual programme of activities, responding to the needs and interests of the young people, and pride themselves on their ethos of accessibility, diversity and inclusion. In the last few years, the members of Act Out have produced original, acclaimed plays (Inception & PROJECTions) in the Solstice Arts Centre; stormed the Púca Festival; had workshops with national experts including Meath’s own playwright Deirdre Kinahan; participated in week-long residentials in Kilkenny with youth theatres from all around the country, in addition to their weekly workshops.
