Navan Town Scheme (Navan 2030) –Traffic Management Notice

Meath County Council wishes to advise of the following traffic management changes to occur at the Abbey Road roundabouts as part of the current upgrade works in the town.

 

Monday 29th of June 2020– Please see Map 1

A one-way system will be in operation from the Cannon Row roundabout to the Kennedy Road roundabout (adjacent to the Post Office) on Abbey Road. Vehicular traffic will only be permitted to travel in the direction of the Post Office/Kennedy Road.

 

Monday 6th of July 2020 – Please see Map 2

The one-way system between the roundabouts on Abbey Road will continue to be in place.

A one-way system will be introduced from the Balmoral junction on the N51 (R147) to the Cannon Row roundabout on Abbey Road. Traffic will only be permitted to travel in the direction of the Cannon Row roundabout and onwards to the Kennedy Road roundabout.

Traffic from Emmett Terrace (Boreen Keel) will be restricted to a right turning only movement towards the Kennedy Road roundabout on Abbey Road, in the direction of the Post Office/Kennedy Road.

Traffic exiting from Cannon Row at the roundabout will be restricted to either turning left onto Emmett Terrace (Boreen Keel) or right towards the Kennedy Road roundabout on Abbey Road, in the direction of the Post Office/Kennedy Road.

 

Monday 13th of July 2020 – Please see Map 3

The one-way system between the roundabouts will continue to be in place. The one-way system will also remain in place from Balmoral junction on the N51 (R147) to the Cannon Row roundabout on Abbey Road and onwards to the Kennedy Road roundabout.

Traffic exiting Cannon Row will be restricted to turning right only towards the Kennedy Road roundabout on Abbey Road, in the direction of the Post Office/Shopping Centre only.

Traffic delays are expected. Diversion routes will be in place and directional signage erected. Local access will be maintained. It is anticipated that the road works will continue until January 2021 at the earliest.
