Temporary Closure of Slane Road (N51), Navan

Meath County Council has made an order to temporarily close the Slane Road (N51), Navan, Co Meath from its junction with the R162/Flower Hill (Round “O” Roundabout) to the entrance of St Enda’s Villas/St Mary’s Park, to facilitate the installation of a new Trunk Watermain by Irish Water, commencing from 9.00am Monday 11th May 2020 until 8.00pm Sunday, 31st May 2020.

Update 21st May 2020:

This closure has been extended from 9.00am on Monday, 1st June 2020 until 8.00pm on Sunday, June 21st 2020.

 

Update 12th May 2020:

A stop-go system is currently in place, however this section of road will be completely closed off from Monday 18th May until Sunday 31st May 2020

The closure will be from 9.00am on Monday, 11th May 2020 until 9.00pm on Sunday, 21st June 2020.

 

Alternative Routes:

N51 Slane Road Diversion Route

  • Traffic approaching from the N51 Slane road will be required to divert on to the R163 at the Slane Castle entrance and then via R162 from Kilberry to Navan.

R162 Proudstown Road Diversion Route

  • Traffic approaching from the Round “O” Roundabout will be required to divert via R162 Proudstown Road and then via the R163 from Kilberry to Slane.

 

Diversion and information signage will be in place. Access for residents and property holders will be facilitated throughout the closure period.
