Works are re commencing in Ashbourne next Monday 18th May.

UPDATE: 1st April 2020

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic and in particular the national restrictions imposed by the Government on Friday 27th March 2020, the pipelaying works on the Ashbourne Bottleneck project have ceased until further notice.

Original Release:4th March 2020

Irish Water is working in partnership with Meath County Council to replace approximately  1.8km of problematic watermains and upgrade critical sections of the water supply network in Ashbourne. These works are being carried out as part of Irish Water’s National Leakage Reduction Programme and will commence in Ashbourne on Monday 9th March 2020.  The pipelaying works involve the laying of a new trunkmain along the R135 from the M2 Roundabout to St.John’s Woods Court and will be carried out under a number of structured phases.

All works will be carried out under traffic management in the form of Traffic Lights and Stop-Go system. However, a section from the Applegreen Service Station to the M2 Roundabout will require a North Bound Lane Closure from the 18th March for approximately 2 weeks. During this period a designated diversion route will be in place via the R125.

In total the pipelaying works are expected to take approximately 18- 20 weeks and all efforts will be made to reduce disruption to Businesses, Residents and Commuters.

Meath County Council on behalf of Irish Water regrets any inconvenience caused.
