Submissions and observations to the proposed temporary road closures only may be made in writing to the Transportation Department, Meath County Council, Buvinda House, Dublin Road, Navan, Co Meath C15 Y291 or by email to transport@meathcoco.ie on or before Wednesday 13th March 2019.

For information, the works will upgrade the layout of the junction (as shown below) to include improved pedestrian and cycle facilities on all four arms of the junction. The revised junction layout will also prohibit the left turning movements from the R147 onto the Abbey Road link and from the Abbey road link onto the N51 towards Kells (the right turns from the Abbey Road link onto the R147 and onto the Abbey Road link from the N51 will continue to be prohibited). The safety improvement works at the junction are due to commence on 2nd April, 2019 and are estimated to last approximately 12 weeks.

It is important to note that these closures are required not just to facilitate the works, but also to help provide safe passage for Pedestrians through the junction during the construction phase.

We are continuing to liaise with the Contractor in relation to finalising the programme of works and it is anticipated that some night time works will be required. Details of these will be advertised here on our website.
