The Anti-Litter Initiative is run by Meath County Council and is an opportunity for your local group or residents association to get involved with helping to improve the appearance of your area.

Leaving or throwing litter in a public place or in any place that is visible from a public place is an offence which can be subject to an on the spot fine of €150 or a fines of up to €4,000 where court convictions are secured.
A wide ranging plan that includes information on legislation litter pollution evaluation, awareness and education, litter prevention and control, community participation, recovery and recycling, enforcement and cleansing.
