Motor Tax

The Motor Taxation public counter service is currently unavailable during the duration of Level 5 restrictions.

During this time vehicles can continue to be taxed by using the online motor taxation system – which is operated by the Department of Transport.

When using the online system, please note that your pin number is the last 6 digits of the serial number on the front page of your Vehicle Registration Certificate (VRC). If you do not have access to your VRC, do not have your reminder notification (Form RF100B), you can use the Pin Retrieval Service -  Pin Retrieval Service.

Your PIN is the last six characters of your vehicle's chassis number (VIN) as printed on your RF100 form when taxing a brand new or imported vehicle for the first time.

If you have a query related to the use of the online service please e-mail or telephone 0818 411 412
