Meath County Council Arts Grants, Awards, Bursaries & Residency Schemes 2021

Funding artists, arts activities and development is a key strategic objective of the Meath County Arts Development Plan 2019 – 2024.

To help maximise the potential for arts provision in the county, Meath County Council Arts Office operates a range of annual bursary and award schemes.

These schemes provide funding opportunities for creative organisations, arts practitioners and groups working with the arts in the county.

Through these schemes the Arts Offices aims to support a diverse range of arts activities and practice throughout county Meath. 

Arts Sector CPD Fund Round II

This award is intended to support Meath professionals within the arts sector in their continued professional development.

Maximum amount available through this grant is €300

Community Arts Award

This award is intended to support community groups and schools in the provision of community arts projects that promote engagement and enhance long-term partnerships with professional artists. This scheme is supported by Creative Ireland.

Drama League of Ireland Bursary Award

This award, open to directors, designers and actors working in theatre and living in County Meath, is intended to fund a week-long residential stay at the Drama League of Ireland Summer School, UL.

Schools’ Musical Instrument Purchase Scheme

This award is intended to support the development of musical instrument resources in Meath primary and secondary schools.

This scheme is supported by Creative Ireland.

Sing Ireland Bursary Award

This award is intended to fund a full-board residential stay at the Sing Ireland Summer School 2021 at the University of Limerick. The bursary is only open to choristers that have successfully passed the audition stage and are living in County Meath.

Annual Arts Grant

This award is intended to support Meath based organisations, individuals or groups in the provision of local arts activities which enhance long-term development and sustainability of the arts in the County.

Maximum amount available through this grant is €1000

Digital Equipment Purchase Scheme

This award is intended to support individual artists, arts organisations or arts groups in the purchasing of ICT equipment to enhance the digital capability of arts practices in County Meath. This scheme is supported by Creative Ireland.

This award is intended to support Meath based professional arts practitioners in the development of their artistic practice and/or the development of new work.

This scheme is supported by Creative Ireland and the Arts Council.

Festivals Grant Scheme

This award is intended to support arts festivals taking place in County Meath that show a commitment to quality artistic programming.

Going Solo Graduate Award

This award aims to support Meath based recent graduate artists in the early development of their professional art careers.

Francis Ledwidge Poetry Award

This scheme aims to support writers in the development of new works of poetry, award includes a bursary amount of €1,500 and a weeklong residency at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre Artists’ Retreat, Annaghmakerrig, Co. Monaghan.

This scheme aims to support short story writers in the development of their work.

Tyrone Guthrie Regional Bursary

This award, open to professional artists of all disciplines living in County Meath, is intended to fund a weeklong residential stay at the Tyrone Guthrie Artists’ Retreat in Annaghmakerrig, Co. Monaghan.

Open to practising professional artists of all disciplines living in county Meath, this bursary provides a month-long residency at the prestigious Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris.

PLATFORM 31

A nationwide collaborative initiative between the Association of Local Authority Arts Officers and the Arts Council, this award is intended to support one artist from each local authority in the development of their artistic practice through the provision of funding and a professional network.
