Proposed Temporary Closure of M1 from Junction 7 to Junction 8 (Northbound), Co Meath
Meath County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to close a section of M1 from Junction 7 to Junction 8 (Northbound) at night-time for a period not exceeding 10 nights over a seven-week period to facilitate Celtic Roads Group (Dundalk) DAC to carry out Pavement works.
The proposed closure and diversion route will be as follows:
M1 Northbound within the section of the M1 between Junction 7 to Junction 8 for 10 nights within the period Monday, 6 October 2025 to Friday, 21 November 2025.
Alternative Route
M1 Northbound Mainline Diversion via R132 (old N1) from J7 and N51 to J10.
Diversion will be in place, at night time only, between the hours of 8.30pm - 6.30am.
The total duration of the roadworks is expected to be seven weeks, during which time the motorway mainline, interchange slip roads, roundabouts and side roads may be closed. It is the intention of Celtic Roads Group (Dundalk) DAC to minimise the number of and duration of road closures within the above period.
Contingency has been included in the seven-week period to allow for disruption to works due to weather conditions etc. and every effort will be made to complete works in less than seven weeks.
The closure will affect the Northbound carriageway only.
Diversion signs will be in place.
Submissions and observations to the proposed temporary road closures should be made in writing to the Administrative Officer, Transportation Department, Meath County Council, Buvinda House, Dublin Road, Navan, Co Meath C15 Y291, or by email to transport@meathcoco.ie on or before Tuesday, 9 September 2025.
